went ktv last night with besty and collin. had a great time singing! then we were singing all the xing guang da dao's song. some of them were old songs. n we were talking abt how talented they are. besty also let us listen to some songs frm Big Bang. they are from korea and they are damn young and talented. really.. and i was thinking. why cant spore have this kind of talent in singing and songwriting. the best i think we ever have is JJ Lin. really. we shld have more pple coming up.
Gary Cao. His voice is really magnificent. Strong and clear. Being shy in nature, he normally expresses himself by singing. one can really feel him when he sings. really like it when he sings A*Mei songs. aiya. bottom line, he is really good. especially when he sings live. wow. hahaha.
AND! who are the pple on top?? they are the 3 other singers in my life! haha. they are Mathilda, Glynis and Collin! We have been singing together since when? yr 1? aiya. since we known each other, which is ard.. 4yrs ago. Collin was frm my class when i was in yr 1.Still rmb the 1st time we went ktv was at cck kbox, after the sch sports day. we went with our classmates then. and tt was the 1st time i went ktv too. was pretty excited. once they started singing, i was like
"wow, they can really sing.. esp. collin."
hahaha. and at the time, they kept saying i sang like jay chou. so funny la. after that outing, we will go ktv frequently la. tt's how i roughly know that collin can sing.
then came to knowing besty and glyn. i think it was on besty's birthday chalet. i dont even know who she was back then and i jus happily went. hahah! but of course i went with yun and cherie they all. collin went too.
oh ya!
and we started singing non-stop over there. hahaha! like not shy at all.
Since then, we started to get abit closer la. going ktv and all. and of course, i will never forget the conference phone calls that we had. Singing on the phone in the middle of the night. hahahaha! it really makes me laughing when thinking abt it now man.
But seriously, ALL of them are really gd in singing la.
Collin-powerful vocals, full of emotionsBesty-what can i say about her? it's so wasted she doesnt perform on stage.Glyn-sweet voice, great backup skills. haha! and of course, straightfoward but useful comments.
I rmb when i joined singing competitions ( which i really feel dumb when i recalled abt it now), they will be the ones giving me advices and all. they even hear me sing and point out my mistakes! oh well, it's not that their advices ain't good, but i didnt win any cos i wasn't gd enuff!! i needed more training. hahahaha
till now, we are still having occasional ktv sessions. but obviously, not that often since everyone have their own commitments.
collin's working, im in army, and glyn and besty are schooling.
but still going ktv with them are still one of the most enjoyable time i can have, and it will always be. now that collin is having singing lessons, of course i hope to join him. and u know. going further and further. haha.
Singing is really one thing that i love, so i just wanna get better. i know i have to be realistice enough to know that i can't carve out a career in singing, esp in spore. but it's my passion. i don't look foward to becoming a star or anything like that! Pls dont get me wrong ok.
it's jus not a crime to do smth u like.
and for me, that is to sing.
